12 September 2023: Wednesday's Vanity Reflection

Dear Diary and Lost Souls,

As the family continues the dreary affair of the search for Itt, I find myself partaking in a rare act of vanity. In a corner of the mansion, the old mirror reflects my image, the perennial Wednesday Addams Halloween costume — a black dress that tells tales of countless somber Halloweens.

I can almost hear the whispers of potential customers ogling over the “latest” Wednesday costumes for Halloween, the black dress signifying a certain poignant charm that seems to be ever so fashionable in the monotony of the ordinary world.

I can't help but be slightly amused at the thought of countless others donning their Wednesday Addams Halloween outfits, attempting to portray a semblance of my delightful darkness, but perhaps missing the essence of the mysterious charm that is quintessentially me.

It appears that the Morticia and Gomez Halloween costumes are also under scrutiny — my parents, the epitome of gloomy elegance, entwined in a romance that makes the mortals' tales pale in comparison. Mother's Morticia Addams Halloween costume, a true symbol of grace, seems to be undergoing a transformation, a metamorphosis into something still undoubtedly Morticia, yet anew.

Father, too, is considering a slight alteration to his Gomez Addams Halloween costume, although I would argue that the essence of Gomez is in the man, not the attire. Their intertwined fashion narrative, transcending the realms of Morticia Halloween outfits, and weaving into a tapestry of unique dark romance, becomes a living testimony to the timeless bond that is Morticia and Gomez.

As the day draws to an end, I am left to wonder if, perhaps, this Halloween will be a time for rebirth, for the evolution of the Addams family costumes, or a proud proclamation of the enduring allure of our iconic styles.

Until tomorrow,
